Birth marks the beginning and equally marks the day, date, and second of death, the end for all living beings who breathe oxygen, consume water, or ingest the carbon and the nitrogen that grace the food on Earth, even if it be the gum at the back of a postage stamp that allows the cockroach to live upon for years. Life is one unit--indivisible and incomprehensible.
The two phases are unalterable and absolute but a completely transparent certitude that defies challenge as well as the highest level of comprehension, and a level of acceptance that is achieved only by rarely-of-the-rare minds, and, is far beyond our commonly narcissistic and simplistic ego-massaging or understanding to ascribe even the slightest or infinitesimal meaning to our existence. Beyond NATURE that we partially or minimalistically perceive by our senses or lack of senses, lie oceans of incomprehension. A simple fusion of microscopic sperm and ovum -- that no atheist can perform -- marks human birth in-utero or in IVF while dissipation of all body processes underscores death.
The humility of understanding (standing under and inner) NATURE can yield a nano-drop or quintillionth of the Cosmos with endless galaxies dwarfing the ignorance of our existence.
When air turn to breath, we start living, when breath turn to air, we die or pass on. Air, the simplest of elements with oxygen particularly available to Earthlings, sustains us all regardless of our cerebration or psychology. When the Muses have no need for us (5Is) -- imagination, intuition, insight, inference, and instinctive, life dissolves away so spontaneously. Why fear??
Fear is the negativity of life, that we can absolutely dispense with, as it can never profile emergence of an after-life. It ruins the present life, leave aside the after-life, and turns philosophy and culture to dust much before we ourselves turn to dust and ashes. The calmness with which Socrates took the poison hemlock is the ideal as is the incarceration of Copernicus without a murmur while the Church was absolutely incorrect.
Spirituality transcends mere entertainment, ideology, or symbolic representations of hellish and heavenly concepts, illusions, and hallucinations.
What is comfort? But a delusion. Humans are always incomplete and wrong. Science and religion -- Tribunal of the Holy Office -- are the perfect delusions and hallucinations.
No Institution is free of ethico-political major issues, and, of course, the ugly fingers of finance do not spare Canonical / Catholic Institutions.
If you fear, you can never be liberated. If you cannot be liberated and/or fearless, in this connected life, what is the possibility of any imaginary fearless connection in an unconnected after-life with all memories erased except for a very few scattered exceptional individual cases worldwide with genuine power and knowledge through generations.
If you use 'I' in a discourse, you are truly lost forever.
