What is the difference between TCSPC and TRPL ? Which one of them is to select for characterization of the recombination decay rate of organic photovoltaics (OPV)? Kindly suggest.
Time-Resolved Photoluminescence (TRPL) is just a general term while Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC) is a special technique to achieve TRLP. You will apply special electronics with a photokathode, secondary electron amplifier (photomultiplier), CFDs, TACs and ADC - but you could do TRLP also differently with a gated camera, with streak camera or Multi-Channel Scaling (MCS) electronics. The best description I know for TCSPC is Becker&Hickls handbook:
Time Correlated Single-Photon Counting (TCSPC) is the method of choice for fluorescence lifetime measurements. You can read following article for detailed procedure https://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1805/1805.05832.pdf
