Is there a possibility to calculate TCID50 for non-plaque forming virus, the virus I'm trying to titer is also known to be non-cytopathic, so my questions is: Is there a method of titers this sort of virus without using antibodies? I have found some information where only Methylene Blue is used and there are a colorimetric differentiation between serial dilutions; but I'm not sure what the principles are of this test.

If your virus does not cause CPE like Rabies virus then the commonly used procedure is immunocytochemistry where infected cells are stained with fluorescein-labeled anti-virus immunoglobulins
