I used to synthesize TiO2 nanowires from a Ti plate through a wet corrosion method: (1)dipping a Ti plate in a KOH solution (10 M) for 24 h at room temperature, (2) dipping a KOH-treated Ti plate in water for at least 48 h at room temperature, and (3) thermal annealing of KOH and water-treated Ti plate at 550 oC for 2 h.
After heat treatment, anatase, rutile TiO2 and layered structure owing to K+ ions were obtained.
Experimental procedure for TiO2 nanowires (wet corrosion methode) was slightly changed from KOH (10 M) to NaOH (10 M) and the rest of process was remained unchanged.
But, from XRD analysis, anatase peak is not shown.
Why does this happen?
