The SERS is a well-knowned spectroscopic method for the surface analysis of alginates. Also, the FTIR and ATR spectroscopies are proper methods for determination the chemical structure, but have limitations for studing the anomeric regions of polymers. So, is it possible the study of anomeric region of sodium alginate without SERS and by using only FTIR?
