Hi! May I ask for suggestions on research papers, databases or any materials that will not be overwhelming to get me started on proteomics research? Also any firsthand experience on difficulties I may encounter? Basic knowledge and equipment that I will be needing?

The developments in, and applications of, proteomics research have really exploded over the past decades. Therefore, it would be useful if you could shed some light on the plans you have with regard to using proteomics, as this will narrow down the number of interesting articles, as well as on the difficulties you might encounter. The latter largely rely on the type of proteome you're planning to target and the method(s) you're planning to use to extract, separate and (quantitatively?) analyze your proteins of interest.

Hi Mr.@Eef Dirksen, we are doing preliminary studies on protein profile of waste materials on food processing to determine protein present..kinds, quantity, break-up products. Then finally, application of these break-up products. Thank you very much for your response!
