Presently our group is trying to identify the effect of temperature on biochar so in this regard we are looking for how the composition of these polymers (cellulose , hemicellulose, and lignin) gets affected.
My doubt is once we treat biomass for biochar production, doesn't it degrade all the biopolymers such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin? And hardly any method will appropriately detect these biopolymers in biochar.
If your biochar sample still contains any amount of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, it will be detected in standard NREL protocol. There is no separate method to estimate the polymers in biochar samples.
