Substitute for beta-NADPH in oxidizing NADPH to NADP+???

Hello,

I am trying to conduct a p450 O-deethylation enzyme activity assay, and the protocol calls for B-NADPH as a source to oxidize NAPDH to the non-fluroscant NADP+. B-NADPH is very expensive; would I be able to use something like DTT to oxidize NADPH without affecting the assay? Is there some other additive I could try to replace the B-NADPH with that is cheaper?

Hi there,

If I understand well, you are looking for a cheaper substrate than NADPH for p450 assay. I'm afraid there is no other option than NADPH as the enzyme is very specific for the electron donor.
