i need a basic tutorial on Structural Equation Modellling, available on line ; it needs not cover the advanced topics as i plan to use it as a support for a newby "crash course"
I started to look at SEM recently and found the tutorials and papers provided by Mplus website helpful : -). Did you find something interesting on your side?.
i have to admit that i did not find what i expected : most tutorials i found spend pages on technical issues which are of little interest for someone coming from the machine learning community and spend much too little time on the motivations and differences between causal models and statistical models
maybe that's just out of bad luck ... or bibliographical incompetence !
the closest i found to what i am looking for is the textbook attached below
When I started to learn SEM, I used an AMOS guide written by James Arbuckle and found it very useful for me. If you are going to use AMOS, it could be an option. It's available online.
I guess one disadvantage of Gastons book is, that it is not up to date anymore. In PLS, a lot of developements have undergone in the last years. So if you want to use this book, you should also consider all the discussions in the respective journals. Moreover, a very useful article on the current view on PLS is the following Henseler et al. (2016).
