Dear Colleague,

I need some information regarding STGG (Skim Milk-Tryptone-Glucose-Glycerol) media for the transport and preservation of Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella spp. Specifically, I have the following inquiries:

Is STGG media commercially available as a ready-to-use formulation, or does it require in-lab preparation?

What are the recommended storage conditions for STGG media before use?

How long can the target bacteria remain viable in this media at different temperatures from the point of collection to culture?

Your insights on these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Pallab
