I need to prepare a complex liquid matrix for static headspace GC-MS using a sorbent.
I know that most papers describe a series of steps including adjusting sample volume, salt, acid, temperature etc. to optimise detection of analytes of interest.
Is this method optimisation standardised? E.g. First check sample volume, then trying salting out, then temperature etc.
Alternatively is there a good paper or book that describes the steps in detail.

If you develop a method, at the end you need to perform a validation.
Read about headspace (there are several books) and about validation ofanalytical methods.
Whitout any details, nothing more can be suggested.

there is no standardized procedure for optimization the sample preparation. It depends on your specific analytical problem.
