I have followed the standard CEN/TR 15508:2006 for explaining how to attain the mg/MJ units for Mercury, Cadmium and sum of heavy metals but I am unsure how the transfer factor and specific volume of gas actually influence the results? They seem to have no effect according to my results.

I already have results from ICP so the units are in mg/ kg.

Is it not possible to just divide the mass concentration (mg/kg) by the NCV (MJ/kg) to attain the result?

Would appreciate some help. Thanks.
