Sodium alginate is usually crosslinked by Ca2+. How does other metal cations crosslink the sodium alginate? I see some papers does this research and a lot other metal cations does crosslink sodium alginate. I am doing an experiment using ruthenium, and I find sodium alginate somewhat crosslinked by Ru2+. So, how is your sodium alginate working with metal cations? And what the metal cations are? Need help or answers ASAP. Thanks
