Serge Moscovici and his theory of Social representation is a stream of research that interests me a lot. The question of future directions of research is also something I contemplated on. How do you see research in this field evolving?

Theory of social representation is about media and communication, it speaks about how people utilize media to present their thoughts and ideas in solving societal problems. Example is an advocate for gender equality, end to child abuse, climate change, domestic violence etc. The theory connected individual to the society, society to the public and public to the media. It is not a popular theory in social science research to the best of my knowledge but it is appropriate for communication research. However, the theory can be useful in the future empirical research cause it will help researchers to communicate ideas relating to beliefs system, value and practice as well as promoting network of problem solving ideas in politics, economics, and social systems for sustainable society. Likewise, organisation can use the theory to communicate its internal social responsibility beliefs to potential employees and also to assure existing employees on the commitment to social satisfaction.

Dear Desalign. I hope you are doing well. I think social representation theory must be connected to other realms such as business or education. It is a very interesting theory that can be useful even outside sociology. Sadly it is more or less forgotten or unknown for economists like me. Best wishes H

Thnak you very much for your explanantion and comments. I do believe that anything that deals with the society is directly conntected to business education and business activity. This is because business is carried out by the society in the society and for the society. this clearly shows that social theory had been and will remain to be connected to business theory and business activities.
