Hello to all,

I am trying to check the slope stability of a geosynthetic liner system on a reservoir under thermal loading. The system is composed of a riprap, geotextile, geomembrane, geotextile and foundation (from top to bottom layer). The interaction between geotextile and geomembrane is defined by an upper and lower interface (using a friction angle). Furthermore, the tensile/mechanical behavior of the geomembrane is defined by an empirical law, based on experimental testing. The empirical law gives Young's modulus as a function of temperature and strain.

While running the model, it seems that even if the riprap moves under gravity, the geomembrane does not deform much. Furthermore, the nodes of the structure does not seem to deform (please check the photo named 'Questionable').

In addition, the riprap sometimes seems to enter into the foundation, which is not possible (please check the photo named 'Problem'). It is important to mention that no restrictions have been applied to the nodes (only the right boundry of the riprap is restricted along with the bottom of the foundation).

Can anyone kindly help me to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance !
