Dear Colleagues,

I have done 20m Shuttle run test on 10 years old adolescents. In the following site:

http://www.topendsports.com/testing/beepcalc.htm

by entering age: 10 years old, stage: 5 and shuttle: 9 in the empty boxes, Vo2max automatically is calculated 32.9 ml/kg/min.

But when we calculate by the following formula:

VO2 max = 31.025 + (3.238 × velocity) - (3.248 × age ) + (0.1536 × age × velocity)

Ahmaidi et al. (1992)

velocity in the stage 5 and shuttle 9 is 10km/h

age:10 years old

VO2max will be: 48.28

Why is there the difference between two VO2max amounts?
