Dear Colleagues, Does any one know about the wave height and frequency in the rat swimming pool for exercise training of rats? Please if possible give a reference.
I've never read anything about frequency and wave height in the rat pool. What we tested was the kind of hustle and bustle of the pool. We realize that if the agitation is in one direction only, the rats exhibit behavior that allows them to float, as if there were no agitation. Hence, we chose to place the water flows in opposite directions and at different points of the pool, so that the rats were required to swim continuously. Almost all swim against the flow of water, and when they found opposite flows, they intensified the movements of all four paws to regain the rhythm of swimming.
