I would be grateful to you if somebody suggests me to solve my problem.
I synthesized oleic acid coated iron oxide nanoparticles by thermal decomposition method. Now for XRD and VSM measurements, it is very difficult to handle the sample as it is sticky/oily. So should the oleic acid be stripped off from nanoparticles and samples be dried as bare iron oxide NPs powder for these measurements? Such information is not commonly described in research papers.

Add in the dispersion solvent, which dissolves of oleic acid. Better hexane, ethyl alcohol. Centrifuge. If poorly wash of nanoparticles, washed again. Dry of NPs.
