We use 3000 to 3500 IU of hCG intramuscular to induce ovulation in cattle and bison. Brand name Chorulon, Merck. I am not sure if other brand suggest a different dose. If you want to decrease the dose you can give 2500 IU intravenous. Good luck.

The evidence about the proper triggering dose in human is 10000 IU , but if your patient is at risk of OHSS , you have to not more than 5000 IU . so, no need to use more than 10000 IU.

The cases where the risk of OHSS 5000 IU is safe.triggering dose  is 10000 IU in cases without OHSS.

10,000iu of HCG is recommended to trigger ovulation. However if OHSS is suspected, a reduced dose of 5000iu is preferred.

In mares, the most usual dosage used is 1500 UI most often intravenously (but also some time IM)... there are few papers about comparative essays of different dosages see following references... no difference in efficacy observed among 1500, 3000 and 6000 UI in one study , no difference between 1500 and 2500 uI but lower efficacy with 500 UI in another study, and no difference between 750 and 1500 UI in athird study.....

Depends of risk for OHSS. If it's high the dose is 5000 i.e.

For stimulation in mouse -less UI, for pig is better more UI.But company is importat to know , since there are differences between hCG quality..

In humans 5000UI hCG dose is more than enough to trigger ovulation

1500-3300 (or 2500 at average)  IU hCG should be fine for mares while 1500 IU is OK for cows.

you should base your decision on the potential for OHSS.  Also consider that unless you use recombinant FBM ovitrelle you may have 5,000 or 10,000 IU +/- ~40% given the possibility of a "hot" or "cold" batch

if there is risk of OHSS so 5000 if not 10000 is better to induse ovulation

We have been using 6500 I.U.in our field work and get successful results.

recently I have been in University of Brussel , the Belgian friend’s they depend on BWt , if > 80kg will trigger by 10,000 and of < 80 kg they trigger by 5000 , I think it dose make sense

Hi again, recently the approach has shifted slightly in non-standard cases to a double trigger (in antagonist cycles), buserilin (GNRH agonist) for the associated LH flare with 5000 IU pregnyl (if available). It may give a better egg maturity but in a manner that does not encourage OHSS. Timing of OPU should be 36 hrs later minimum

Is OHSS risk dependent. 5000 iu of hcg for those at risk while 10000 for those without the risk

Dose should be patient centred, those at risk of OHSS should be given 5000iu, I'd no risk 10000iu hcg is ok
