From my point of view, although many people think this violence is just like another, it should be considered as gender-based violence because it has only affected women for a lot of years by the simple fact that we are women. Women throughout history have been abused, we have received insults, we have had to ask for permission only because we are women and we have had to endure thousands of situations that have made us feel inferior for thousands years. That is why it is totally fair to speak of a different violence, which only affects us because we were born as women, and for this reason feminism is so necessary.
I totally agree Gloria! In fact it is contemplated as a MeSH term! In addition, there are other term as intimate partner violence which has high prevalence in our society! For all, feminism are necessary!
I think, though there are drastic changes for better in some countries, the situation is not much different in many parts of the world. Violence is only taking new forms.
Yes. I agree with your argument. It is still a very common practice in suburban and rural India. though it can be seen in even metropolitan cities if an extensive survey is conducted. You are absolutely right.
