Patient psychology is at the core of successful patient engagement, yet there is no separate entity in the undergraduate medical curriculum. Do you think that the time has come to include this subject with its appropriate concern? Does only "communication skill" suffice it?
Surely during M.B.B.S course Psychiatry should be equally important as important
as Pharmacology . A Good Doctor specially surgeon should be a better councilling
capability to transfer the pateint to O.T without anxiety .

Yes, it would have an impact on patient doctor relation, its somewhat challenging without a proper training, specially the first year of residency, however with time it has becomes easier without studying psychology, but it would have made it a lot more easier if during medschool psychology was highlighted more .

It is very important to include this subject with its appropriate concern. Academic enumeration alone is not enough. It must be followed by skillful preparation. This is to teach the psychiatrist effective communication skills with patients. There are very important skills in a therapeutic interview that a psychiatrist must master, such as: empathy skills, communication skills, listening skills, and questioning skills.
