It is traditionally said that the close neighbors are better than the relatives. Obviously, it is applicable in the case of India and Pakistan relations.
There is a need, for both the countries, to obliterate the historical bitterness and move forward as respectable members of the global community of nations. Instead of spending huge sums on armaments they can serve their people better by having a scenario of mutual respect and honourable faith.
Minorities in both the nation states have become targets of perpetual harassment and marginalisation. Cross-border enmity takes its toll on the domestic minorities because of religious affiliations as if you kill your minorities and I kill my minorities.
Pray that this is not a cooperative policy between the two nations to inhumanly oppress the minorities and exhausting the hard earned and valuable resources on annihilating not only the humans but also the spirit of humanity.

Your quest is really commendable. However, I do suspect the proposition that the globalization has such blessings. As for as I understand, the globalization is a more strategic, chauvinistic, and hegemonic paradigm in favor of the imperialist powers, at least for a long time.

Dear Sir, India and pakistan to respect each other ----- is not the basic issue --- the effect of separation from 1947 has torn the people mind understanding far away and the second and third generation of young political people have no regard of the united india once upon a time. How would they even think of a kind understanding which can breed respect and regard? Thanks.

I do appreciate he question due to its strategic importance and on top of all due to its nobleness for the humanity and mutual harmony.
I personally understand and would reflect that, ignorance and illiteracy are among the causes along with Politico-Religious-Military triangle that takes benefit out of such ignorance and exploits.
The people (generally) do appreciate such harmony, mutual respect and cooperation, but it is proportional to their exposure to external and international knowledge and culture. The triangle mentioned earlier exploits the emotions of people for their stake and existence. If there is no conflict these countries don't need such huge military and defense forces and expense related to their maintenance.

Partition is seven decades old. Is there any limit to painful and hatred memories anymore, now? Battles should not last so long. Peace should be the priority, everywhere and at all times. Is there any sense in mutual destruction for such a long time, on such a scale, and for what. It is a war wherein every participant is a loser.

I belong to a minority religion which is less than 0.5% of the total population. I have never felt any discrimination. Infact minorities have received a lot more than the general population. Minorities in India are Jains, Buddhists, Christains, Sikhs, and Muslims. The best thing of India is that most of the people believe in non-violence. But there are few people who tries to spoil this culture.
Talking about Pakistan, well i have stayed with pakistani medical students in US and i was really happy that i met them. In our group only few were Indians while most of them were Pakistanis and we really liked each other. Obv, we come from a same culture and hence, all civilians would love each other.
Yes, for certainly they should respect each other. Sometimes, the neighbors are more important and necessary at emergencies. Helping each other always benefits to both, it is win-win game, why not to win a game? Not respecting each other is a worse idea and nothing is helpful to them.
