I have been asked to remove non-significant regression lines from a graph. This graph has 4 sets of data, only one of which is significant. I have never heard of this before and I wonder if there is some rule about this that I am unaware of. I have placed the R2, sample size, equation of the line and p-value next to the lines so that it is clear that there is no significant relationship. I think that the lines are helpful in demonstrating the following: 1) I have done a regression analysis on several subsets of the data, 2) the slope of the line clearly shows that the expected relationship of the variables is not present and 3) keeps the reader from thinking that the one significant regression line is representative of all of the points on the graph.
