Please help me to find the genes responsible for the tomato and rice plant growth and defense in the presence of bio-stimulant and plant growth promoting bacteria.
I suggest first of all to search for all the PR (pathogen related) proteins/genes and WRKY transcription factor in Tomato and Rice. Actually, you have the advantage that both plant genomes are already sequenced and just is matter to take time and patience to find them. And for abiotic stress, I suggest to focus in a few and specific kind of stress to carry out your search for the specific ones related to.
I think that based on your purpuse . Now there are many genes investigated to play role in plant growth and defense, then u can select the suitable gene for your aim and blast in avaliable database to check the presence of selected genes in your interested plant
Do you want to isolate the genes or just want to know to know what genes? For you to onow the causal genes younhave to perform forward genetics approach. To know what genes are highly responsible you can perform rna seq analysis.
Thank you for all your suggestion. I got lot of ideas. let me select the auxin regulatory gene as a growth promoting gene for growth promotion in response to my bio-stimulant. Did this gene will work when I treat the plant with my bio stimulant.
Dear Aarón Barraza,
my special thanks to you for suggesting PR (pathogen related) proteins/genes, which are having major role in defense.
Hi, I would like to say that your objective is really great and complex, numerous plant biologists are fighting to get the answers. If I were you, I would try at this moment in two aspects: literature survey and transcriptomic analysis. I am sure the genes involved in plant growth and resistence to stress are many and these genes should be interacted with one or another. It will be great to dissect these complex regulatory networks step by step. Literature survey will help you to narrow down possible genes you are interested in and transcriptomic analysys will experimentally prove some of these genes are highly correlated for the growth and stress applied. Further analyses using froward genetics could help you further characterize some candidates. Good luck!
