I have a collection of lentil comprised of 281 accessions, but I am not sure which approach to take for QTLs detection: Bi-parental or association mapping? And which markers must I choose (SSR); in fact, the goal of my project is identification of new markers for lodging resistance in lentil.

Both of them can give the QTL detection.
If your test data is progeny lines data of two parents of 281 accessions then you should use biparental mapping analysis method of QTL detection.
If your test data is diverse lines of 281 accessions then you should use association mapping for QTL detection.
Mapping population - Biparental QTL mapping
Diverse accessions/genotypes - Association mapping to detect QTL
Another issue is how you plan to score markers for this study. Typically, GWAS projects can and should employ a much grander number of markers since the number of historical crossovers in a large unrelated population is much larger than in a biparental study. Usually 1000-2000 markers is sufficient to saturate a biparental map, while you might want 10x as many markers to make use of all the crossover information in a GWAS.
But; if your population is 281 unrelated individuals and you have no full-sib family in the works, you are probably in a better position to do a GWAS at the moment.

Greetings and thank you for your question. Both methods could detect QTLs but for bi-parent you must have a wide parent in the traits under investigation and need time to develope these mapping population and this include F2:3, BC, DHLs or RILs mapping population. However for association mapping you must have a diverse collection from genotypes 100-200 genotypes.
Also, both need phenotyping and genotyping data

Both of them can be used. But these days association mapping is more preferred than biparental
