Yes, I agree with Iqbal because article published in subscription journal will not reach all unless it is subscribed by the library. In the point of view of access and citation it will be more in open access and research output will reach the public as soon as it is generated. Hence the research output must be published in Open access journals
Yes Dr. Imran, It will take time to accept by the researcher But it can be done by the Government at levels and mandate at least public funded institutes researcher must publish in open access journals. Then it is possible.
It seems to be possible now as many reputed publishers for example Elsevier etc. offering authors to publish their articles in open access mode. Elsevier has 376 such open access journal titles that can be accessed through the link https://www.elsevier.com/about/open-science/open-access/open-access-journals
All research publications should be open access to all. Open access will serve the basic purpose of writing and publications of an author i.e. to be read.
Let me also inform that slowly but steadily publications are coming in open access mode. even the commercial publishers are also making full or part of their publications open access to retain its value.
Thanks for sharing the journal list Dr. Jafar Iqbal but, it is disheartening to see that there is no Library and Information Science journal in Elsevier open access journal titles.
