Scientists mature / age at varying rates yet age is a limiting factor in attempting to continue a productive career. How does one mitigate age as a factor in continuing a career in science?
Age-based learning or teaching are both products of the lie of a static universe, when we now know with advances in quantum physics and chaotic sync that we live in a miraculous and mutable universe where our very thoughts affect water molecules, and therefore each other. My five children were all totally aware from conception, and letting them choose their own paths and discoveries is part of the miracle of teaching. Any age and any child is capable of far more than we can imagine. Therefore, any age discrimination limits only ourselves, and is not based on reality in a mutable universe where everything is a wave form until there is an observer. Particle physics has come full circle back to the Greek philosophers' arguments about these very questions. I have several books on lulu.com about the subject of new paradigms and how these affect education. They are linked to my main page under books and movies by andi bowe.
There is a saying in Spanish that rimes as follows: "mas sabe el diablo por viejo que por diablo" and translates as: "the devil knows more for been old than for been the devil". No intention to compare or name anyone "devil", the point is that knowledge acquired during lifetime is irreplaceable and must not be ignored. Why put a limitation to humankind to contribute to this small world? If capacity and desires exists, why to stop?
Age discrimination should not be condoned as age calls for experience & we all know that experience is a greatest teacher .For age if the person is physically not healthy we may not allow in the teaching field in writings & other matter we can certainly use his experience .
Age!!! the age issue is a big issue nowadays. Age should not be a limitation in pursuing ones career. Experience comes with age especially in academics.
