A Bachelor (Honours) thesis should demonstrate elementary research skills but the nature of ti can be broadly replication of other studies in a more localised context. As with any research, it is an advantage if it is original and so it can be encouraged at this level if appropriate and manageable.

No. A thesis for the degree of bachelor should be an elegant application of what a student has learned. The solution of a complicated problem is enough. No plagiarism should be allowed.

I think Bachelor thesis does not have to be novel.
