Wow , The price is Expensive , Rohad & Swartzhe VNA with flexible Cable around 750,000 EGP . Mixed signal osciloscope 150,000 EGP also ARB function Generator , Impedance Analyzer around 300,000 EGP .Spectrum analyzer around 250,000 EGP

the rest of list around 300,000 EGP .

I think if you write project you may be start at 2,000,000 EGP for Equipment

I think programmable frequency synthesizer is necessary (Hamage for example) beside at least 1 nsec resolution Oscilloscope (for example TEKTRONIX (1GHz) TDS 5104 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope i think its price is about 10000 $).

power modules to get information about the power of signal and power of its harmonics

also bandwidth > 1 GHz is more suitable for higher frequency ranges

as i mentioned above a resolution of 1 nsec is belong to 1 GHz. When i said that at least i nsec i mean a resolution smaller than 1 nsec it means a bandwidth >1GHZ. there may be a confusion in understanding my expression.

Dear colleagues,

Both scopes can display any signal waveform.They can display the analog and digital signal waveforms. The main difference is that while the analog scope displays the signal directly as is, the digital scope coverts it in binary digital form, stores it , reconstructs it and then display it on the screen. Consequently, the analog scope can display signals with larger bandwidth. While the digital scope can perform post processing on the stored waveforms. The stored waveforms can be evaluated and analysed numerically. Even so, the waveform can be frequency analysed using FFT.

Concerning frequency synthesizers, they are really built inside the sophisticated signal signal and function generators. In fact, t he advanced signal and function generators are built around frequency synthesizers.

the mixed signal scope MSO has additional ability ,which is the measuring of logic gates operations simultaneously (16 channel) , Timing circuits and CLK signal performance

functions of most electronic component could be checked by MSO .

Since the planned testing laboratory is to be used for advanced communication equipment. Hence, in addition to the above mentioned equipment, one should also consider a "shielded room" where the testing equipment is to be installed. This is to suppress any unwanted interference that could affect the measurements to be taken.

you must have all set ups connected to DSO or Spectrum analyzer from AGILENT. Then for simulations one can use MATLAB or Scilab., NS2 FOR simulation of netwuks,

I agree with you that you can't use any scope for any type of measurements.I said in my post that any signal waveform can be displayed equally either by an analog or digital oscilloscope. The context of the subject shows that i meant analog,digital and mixed waveform in response to previous posts.From the definition point of view,an oscilloscope is an instrument to display a waveform. This is from the principle point of view. However from the practical point of view, there is no universal instrument that can be used for any type of measurements. Consequently, there is no universal oscilloscope. The second important principle is that the measuring instruments must not affect any changes to the measured quantities. The scope must display the signals without distortion or at least with an acceptable distortion. In addition the instrument must be easy to use.

The digital measuring instruments including the digital storage oscilloscopes are real and earn land every day. It is not only the love or hate which draw the road of development but also the technological advancements.

The lab is equipped with valuable instruments for the experimental characterization of communication systems, such as

• Time and frequency domain analyzers
