A good effort by Mary!!. As far as I am aware there isn't an international standard. That said, not all countries continue with the State Final' examination leading to registration. For instance, the UK abandoned a final examination structure at least a decade ago for nursing. For those that continue with it i.e. New Zealand the pass rate remains 'high' for nursing. One would hope that would be the case - as the examinations tend to be based on fundamentals of quality care provision - and is seen as a mechanism to serve and protect the public.
