I'm interested in serum-free medium for hybridoma cell culture from BD biosciences, Thermo Fisher Scientific, PromoCell and Sigmaaldrich. Could you review about it?
I have used Ex Cell hybridoma medium from Sigma. Works very well for growing hybridomas. Myelomas are routinely cultured in this medium. We switch the myeloma cells over to Ex Cell medium supplemented with extra glutamine, a growth supplement and 1 % heat inactivated FCS. We continue with this medium after fusion until hybrid colonies are growing well.
You may get the right answers here, but if not: you might, perhaps, be able to ask the different manufacturers for a little (free) sample to test to your conditions of cell culture - and then order the most suitable (or best price/needs ratio). Since you specifically asked for "serum-free" I conclude you do not want to add any unspecified, addtl. compounds, like heat-inactivated FCS (that might probably reduce the later use in human applications, or just make it less reproducible).
