Hello, dear researchers! I was wondering if someone can tell me where to find data for CO2 emissions, Foreign Direct Investments, Gross Domestic Product and Energy Consumption by industrial sectors? I want to do a study that will, among other things, have these variables (CO2 emissions, FDI, GDP and EC) in the regression model, but by industrial sectors. For now I have found the data only for FDI on the official web page of National bank of my country, but only for 10 years, and I wasn't lucky in finding the data for CO2 emissions, GDP and EC.
I hope that someone will help me with this. I would be very thankful.

@Aleksandra, one other easiest ways of getting such data is by asking those who have done similar studies. You must have identified them in you literature review. Send them email and some may reply. It worked for me sometime ago.

Yaşar Alptürk Did you find data for all sectors and a time frame of more than 10 years? I need sector classification. For example, on the WB website I found CO2 emissions for only 4 sectors (electricity and heat, manufacturing and construction, commercial and public servises, transport) and only years 1990. and 2014.
Is there a way to contact WB and ask for more data?
Aleksandra Pavlović I used country-based data between 1992-2013. I don't know why WB is not broadcasting anymore. I'll let you know if I find the data
I think it would be easier if you use the same source for the same type of data across countries, but use different datasets for different indicators. The challenge will be the sectoral codes or groupings. If it is FDI - the best source is really UNCTADs online database (you can google it). But when it comes to sectoral FDI information, OECD may be the better alternative and/or the EUs datasets. If you use R it is easier because you can access all these databases using specific packages in R (for example there is one package called 'eurostat' which is really useful) that makes it easy to read in and merge the data. Finally, for CO2 emissions I recommend you look at the Our World in Data website. They have sectoral data per country but quote CAIT Climate Data Explorer via Climate Watch. Also, check the literature on pollution havens - that literature makes the coupling between emissions and FDI - but of course ideally at the firm-level. Good luck with your study!
