The skills acquired in the field of scientific research are the possibility of academic writing and continuous rich reading as well as learning to work on a number of engineering programs that help us to represent the engineering reality
This is indeed interesting topic and the replies are also worth-reading.
Research skills I believe should include:
1) Critical thinking (toward resources, question forming etc), 2) Planning, 3) Hypothesising, 4) Observing, 5) Communicating, 6) Revising
I am sure there might be more, but these come to mind now.
In fact, along with skills I believe there are research friendly attitudes too: respect for participants, willing to research and contribute, etc

As a researcher, I was & will continue to work on developing my skills and adding more to my research toolbox! literature synthesis, phenomenological interviews, & collaborative research on a global level are my favorite paths!
