I am doing experiments with S. aureus and I am particularly interested to quantify catalase activity before and after the treatment. Does anyone have suggestion which assay should I use and their experiences with assay.

I haven't used them myself.
The Amplex Red series of kits are awesome. In fluorescence mode they are VERY sensitive. Or you can read in absorbance mode if you don't need the sensitivity.

An easy way is to measure the decrease in H2O2 concentration by following its DO at 240 nm. It is a simple and accurate method for measuring catalatic activity from bacterial extract.
