Hi guys, I want to ask about RNA isolation procedures from fish skin tissue samples? a full protocol would be appreciated.
TRIzol method is the till date best method to extract RNA from variety of biological samples but from fish skin, depends upon the skin, kind of cellular content on the skin does matters, I mean some fish's skin is totally made up of cartilage/keratin without any cellular content.Therefore you should be careful about the kind of fish skin you are using for RNA preparation.

for RNA extraction, maybe you can use Trizol method, but you have to be careful with skin fish composition to have very clean RNA isolate. I recommend you to use RNA extraction kit that specialized for fish skin or fish tissues to get better yield than conventional methods.
