Has anyone used Qiagen's RNeasy 96 Universal tissue kits? How did you find it? Also, what about Macherey Nagel's NucleoSpin™ 96 RNA? Which is better? I have 6000+ bees to homogenate and extraction RNA from. Can't use Qiagen's lysis machine as my samples are too big and we want RNA from half of a bee. I'll be homogenising them with a bead ruptor with Qiazol if I use Qigens kit, not too sure about homogenisation with Macherey Nagel's kit. Any recommendations would be welcome.

Hello Toby,
I've not used the Qiagen kit; I have used and do like the Thermo MagMax kit albeit not for bees. Not sure if you're after parasite or virus RNA/DNA as well; I do know that Thermo has a MagMax kit for that purpose. I've used their MagMax kit in 96-well format both on a KingFisher Magnetic Particle mover and have also done the plate format sans KingFisher. Hopefully someone will have experience and provide some insight.
