Antimicrobial properties in polymer matrixes is an important topic and the use of oxides and light would provide systems with high activity for all types of microorganisms and without the need of releasing dangerous materials to the medium/environment. We work in these systems but general information (reviews for literature or patents) related to the disinfection capabilities of these nanocomposite materials as well as optical properties (particularly charge carrier fate after light excitation) are not easy to find.

Many thanks for the info. Specific information for polymer-based TiO2 (or ZnO) containing materials seems rather scarce. Will continue to check potential sources.
