I wonder if anybody has good experience in measuring the concentration of retinoic acid in intestinal tissues. It appears that duodenum may have higher levels of retinoic acid. Will 1cm of tissue be sufficient for this assay? Also, if you can share with me a protocol or reference on retinoic acid quantification, that would be very helpful! Thanks a lot in advance!
Hi! I was wondering if you have found an answer to this question yet? I'm also interested in quantifying RA levels in the intestine and was thinking of an ELISA on digested tissue or an MSD (electrochemiluminescence method). I think western blot will be too dirty and not easily quantifiable but I could be wrong?

Hi Dana, the RA levels in the intestine (mice) are at pmol/g scale. Using WB may not be sensitive enough. I have asked a company (Creative proteomics, NY) to analyze it. The analysis was very expensive, almost 200 USA per sample, and it took 3 months to actually get the result.
