Emotions are the responsibility of each individual and depend upon our personal boundaries and how we treat ourselves. So I don't think it is a factor :)
Information and communication technology explains many of the changes in scientific research over the last 50 years, mainly in terms of its use as a research management tool (but inextricably also in terms of its impacts on the research process and researcher emotions). The role and applications of ICT in research have been felt across, say, (a) communication (for instance by changing the ways researchers communicate with other parties); (b) information gathering, processing, and sharing (for instance, by facilitating surveys and allowing quick and easy dissemination of information across the globe); (c) simulation (for instance, by enabling virtual lab activities and robotic experiments); and (d) monitoring and evaluation (for instance, by providing tools for feedback). (These are but a few examples: ICT has impacted the conduct of research throughout.)
