Most RCT´s comparing cervical disc replacement to fusion show lower frequencies of revision surgery after disc replacement. Is this the clinical experience of spine surgeons performing both procedures?
I think the opposite is right. Most literature show superiority of fusion over DR . regarding the patient satisfaction. and reoperation rate although there is new literature which show the opposite . in the hospital where I work satisfaction and reoperation rate is less with fusion surgery ,where patient with DR the complain of axial neck pain . I notice that when patient with DR are satisfied the disc is not moving on dynamic viiews . I mean when TG he prosthesis is not moving the patient has better outcome.

Although literature is very controversial, I have to agree with the colleagues Rasch and Fadi. Yes, fusion surgery per se yields less revisions in comparison with disc repalcement. You should not include those cases with mistaken levels for fusion !
