The Excel program B&S on the 4PB platform (https://www.civil.uminho.pt/4pb/excel.htm) is replaced by a renewed version. The main difference is the calculation of the deflection Vs due to the shear forces. In the old version, the accuracy of the series development was too low. In the present version, the series development counts over 4100 terms. When the frequency is set to nil the calculated Vs value is equal to 0.9999615 of the static value for Vs. The static value is known because it depends only on the ratio of the height H over effective length Lengtheff (H/Lengtheff), the Poisson ratio of the tested material, and the shear coefficient Alpha (FEM). The two last parameters are default 0.35 and 0.85.
