In the plot of Absorbance VS wavelength (calculated by UV spectrum), I am finding it difficult to understand the explanation of why the small particles have narrow peak and big particles have broad. I read it somewhere that when the particle size increases, absorbance vs wavelength curve shifts right (red shift) and vice-versa (blue shift). However, this theory contradicts an article published by Fleger and Rosenbluh (link attached). In the first paragraph of Result and Discussion, they have mentioned that increase in particle size shifts SP resonance to the blue and become narrower. That concept confused me. Am I missing some explanation here?
