I have looked around a little bit (It has been a few years ago, when a planned my last wind farm) . There is on main software from a danish company www.emd.dk, which is used by most of the wind power planning companies. WindPro is the name of the software.
You will only need a basic module, but it is about 1.000 €.
I dont know the level of your project.
Before buying an expensive software which is a little dangerous to use, perhaps you
could make very first calculation
For a good working wind turbine you will need 5 times the height of the building;tree.before and
15 times the height after the three forest...
You will need the monthly main wind speed and direction
You have to look if there is a contact to the public cable system 10kV to 30kV and how long
(cost problem) the cables will be.
If you just want to analyse a country, you can work with some easier calculations.
Before buying a wind power plant, it will be absolutly neccesary to make a detailed analys of power because 10% difference in speed causes 30% difference in power.
Be careful using the software if you did have done it before it is similar to FEM. You will need the feedback of serveral projects to generate good results.
If you give me some more details of your project maybe I can find a way without expensive software to make some first aid.
