I have a tcwv data from ERA interim analysis. Unit of this data is in kg/m^2. Is there any way to express this tcwv in to precipitation? can we set some limits lets say if tcwv is more then 10 kg/m2 then precipitation ...(just I am thinking)?

NASA/RSS numerical anomaly on water vapor. Find the data after 3 sublinks. Add 28.73 to the anomalies for total values.

Precipitation is tied to relative humidity not TPW. Relative humidity includes temperature so there is no way to connect just TPW and precipitation.
precipitation has conversion rate , it has connection with tcwv but can be also affected by other factors. it is a very interesting question. I have two publications on this queation. u can find them in my project Atmospheric hydrology. And I wish more communications with u about the relative questions. ^–^
