I am trying to deposit Titanium monoxide (TiO) on glass using thermal evaporation technique and sometimes i am getting the bluish colour coating ,some mixed with golden shade and sometimes mostly golden shade ,but i only want golden shade thin film coating on glass,what colours do really TiO impart on the glass ?Is it possible to get only the golden shade and if not ,what are other suitable deposition materials to get the golden shade thin films using thermal evaporation .

The film thickness and the refractive index determine the color.
How are you sure you have TiO and not TiO2?

Let me know more about this, what are the suitable conditions which i require to get golden shade coating.
And if there is any effect of temperature of substrate affecting the colour of the coating ?
Raghav Upadhyay Please explain your source of TiO... You say you are 'using' TiO. How do you know this is deposited and not TiOx...?
Colors of thin films can be predicted and there's plenty of literature.
