I have a few questions related to Microbial growth Kinetics.
1. In batch fermentors, we consider that the specific growth rate (mu) in the log phase is equal to the maximum specific growth rate (mu max). Does that mean log phase growth is not substrate-limited? In other words, it implies mu has reached Monod law saturation conditions right?
2. In CSTR, we consider that the growth is maintained at the log phase. But according to question 01, if it is operating at the log phase, then again the operating point should be under Monod saturation conditions. But we use Monod unsaturated conditions (Ks
