In the methods part of my papers (Psychology/Neuroscience), I refer to the manufacturers of components/product that I used, such as MR-scanners, like this:

"Data was acquired on a MODEL MR-scanner (MANUFACTURER, LOCATION (CITY) OF WORLD HEADQUARTERS, COUNTRY)."

Now a reviewer suggested that I do not use the world headquarters but the branch headquarters for the specific component/product (in this case MR-scanners or, more generally: Healthcare).

I always thought that providing the name of the company along with the city and country is just to make sure that everyone can unambiguously identify the company. In this case, the world headquarters would be my first choice.

Is there a reason to use the branch headquarters?
