I'm looking for a tool that can act as both a reference manager and an RSS reader / news aggregator.
Ideally cross-platform (Linux+Mac+Win) or web-based.
Ideally using BibTeX or BibLaTeX natively for the bibliography database (so that I can have fine-grained control over things like capitalisation and complicated names, e.g. with "van" or "Junior" parts).

At the moment, I'm using JabRef (http://jabref.sourceforge.net) for reference management, and The Old Reader (https://theoldreader.com) to subscribe to journal feeds (e.g. table of contents or articles in press).
Both work really well separately, but it's not very efficient to transfer a reference from the reader to the bibliography. E.g. if I copy the article title from the reader to JabRef's online search tool, it typically finds several (sometimes unmanageable many) other unwanted references and sometimes doesn't find the desired reference, despite the fact that the RSS XML often contains enough info that it *could* be uniquely found.
I've recently heard about Research Assistant (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Other-Office-Tools/Research-Assistant.shtml) which apparently is a combined reference manager and RSS reader, but it appears to be Windows-only, which is a problem for me.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
Alternatively, are there any RSS readers that could be customised to have something like "add to BibSonomy" (an online BibTeX-based bibliography database, http://www.bibsonomy.org) in addition to the usual stuff like "share via twitter" etc?
Don't really use RSS feeds much, but Zotero will add an icon to the address bar which will add the current page to your library, it understands the meta data for most journals I've encountered. Don't think there's integration, but if you're opening a new webpage for an article you plan to add anyway then that's a bit quicker. It can also publish a public (or private group) bibliography if you use their server storage.
Citavi is a reference manager with built in RSS reader. It is a complete knowledge management system. I have attached a link. Hope you find it useful.
