Recently, I am working on calculating the reduction degree of ore pellet based on the image analysis after reduction. For instance, I can get the area fraction of metallic iron, wustite, fayalite and hole. Then I can calculate the oxygen connected to wustite and fayalite. In this way, the reduction degree can be calculated as "1-(Oxygen connected with particles after reduction)/(Oxygen connected to hematite before reduction". However, the value calculated in this way is always lower than others, such as the estimation from off-gas. Can anyone has suggestion on this?
BTW, it seems there is little open literature related to the reduction degree based on the image analysis after reduction, then what's the reason?
