There is not best classifier. You have to compare several algorithms under the evaluation of cross-validation (for example), in order to select the best one.

There is no short answer. If your data are raw then you need firstly a data preparation. Make classification with many difrerent intelligent systems... Use 70% of patterns for the learning and rest for estimation... Maybe you need some coworker with expiriences...

You can send me your database and descriptions of structure: tables, fields, relations. Then I can quotate the solution.

The first, if you want to find patterns, have to use no-supervised techniques. If you want to predict, then use supervised techniques. In second, if you want to predict will should considerer bi or multiclass problem.
